Paulina Vega of Colombia Crowned Miss Universe 2014

Paulina Vega of Colombia was crowned the title of Miss Universe 2014 at the conclusion of the international pageant held on January 25th, 2015 at the FIU Arena at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, USA. This is only the second time ever that Colombia has won the pageant, after Luz Marina Zuluaga in 1958.

Paulina Vega of Colombia being crowned the title of Miss Universe 2014 by the out-going queen Gabriela Isler of Venezuela.

Paulina Vega Dieppa beat 87 other contestants to win the 63rd Miss Universe title.
As the winner of the pageant, Paulina wears the new crown made by Diamonds International Corporation, a Czech based jeweller, the newest official jewelry maker of Miss Universe. She will now move to New York City where she will be working for Donald Trump’s Miss Universe Organization.

This is only the second time ever that Colombia has won the pageant, after Luz Marina Zuluaga in 1958.

Paulina Vega Dieppa of Barranquilla is 21 years old and stands at 1,77 m tall. Vega studies Business Administration at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. She is the daughter of cardiologist Rodolfo Vega Llamas and Laura Dieppa, and granddaughter of the legendary tenor Gastón Vega. She is also the granddaughter of Elvira Susana Castillo Gómez, Miss Atlántico 1953.

Paulina was crowned Miss Universe Colombia 2014 on November 11, 2013 in Cartagena de Indias.

The first runner-up was Nia Sanchez of the host country United States;
The second runner-up was Diana Harkusha of Ukraine;
The third runner-up was Yasmin Verheijen of the Netherlands;
The fourth runner-up was Kaci Fennell of Jamaica.

The top ten were completed with Valentina Ferrer of Argentina, Tegan Martin of Australia, Mary Jean Lastimosa of the Philippines, Desirée Cordero Ferrer of Spain and Migbelis Castellanos of Venezuela.

Special Awards:
Miss Congeniality went to Queen Celestine of Nigeria;
Miss Photogenic went to Gabriela Berrios of Puerto Rico;
Best in National Costume went to Elvira Devinamira of Indonesia.
