Road to Miss America 2012:
Morgan Amarone was crowned Miss Connecticut 2011/Miss Connecticut Scholarship 2011 at the Garde Arts Center in New London on June 25. Morgan is 23-year-old and will represent Connecticut in Miss America 2012.
“I’m still in shock,” said Hamden’s Morgan Amarone, just minutes after being named Miss Connecticut 2011.
“It’s a little bit surreal,” she said. “It’s been six years [that] I’ve been involved with this organization, so this is just the culmination of a lot of hard work. I can’t wait to represent Connecticut. I’m ready for it and I’m really looking forward to it.”
The first runner-up is Jessica Lesage of Wallingford.
Other finalists included: Kaitlyn Tarpey of Stamford; Acacia Courtney of Hamden; ; Martha Price of Rocky Hill; Alexandria Puglisi of Cheshire; Brittany Monico of Bristol; Ashley Membrino of Waterbury; Cassandra Mastrianni of Wolcott; and Alexandra Tenney of Greenwich.
The 2011 Outstanding Teen is Nicole Nemense of Watertown. Brianna Smail of Wolcott was the first runner up. The remaining finalists were: Annalisa Sega of Southington; Melissa Doyle of Wolcott; Jaine Coann LeFebvre of Glastonbury; Alexa Farrell of Wolcott; Andreanna Buccheri of Wethersfield; ; Jenna Kowalec of Bristol; Alyssa Anderson of Wolcott; and Erin Ward of Wolcott.
