Polina Popova, representing Sverdlovsk Oblast, was crowned the title of Miss Russia 2017 at the conclusion of the national pageant held on Saturday, 15 April 2017 at the Barvikha Luxury Village concert hall in Moscow.
Polina Popova, representing Sverdlovsk Oblast, has been crowned the title of Miss Russia 2017 and will compete at the Miss World 2017 pageant later this year.
With the title, the 21-year-old beauty walks away with a prize of 3 million rubles and a car.
Her court includes the first runner -up Alexandrova Kseniya, representing Moscow; the second runner-up Albina Akhtyamova, reprsenting Bashkortostan.
One of the runners-up will be appointed Miss Universe Russia 2017 and compete at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant.
Miss Russia is the country’s national beauty pageant, which was held for the first time among Russian emigrants in Paris in 1927. In the Soviet Union, the pageant was first held in 1989, under the name Miss USSR and has since been held annually in Moscow.
Since 2016, the pageant is held under the aegis of the Culture Ministry of Russia.
