Leah Cecil is the new Miss California 2012 and will compete in Miss America 2013
Leah Cecil, Miss Southern California, was crowned Miss California 2012 on June 30, 2012 at the William Saroyan Theatre in Fresno. The beauty from Garden Grove is 22 years old. She will represent California at the Miss America 2013pageant.
Earlier, Cecil won the preliminary talent competition in which she played the harp. Cecil’s campaign platform is “Compassion for the Convalescing.” She shares her music with patients at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She is a former contestant Contestant at National Sweetheart 2011 and on the ABC television series, “Wipeout.”

Cecil is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, where she majored in music. Her ambition is to earn a master’s degree in music and be a professional musician.
Leah is currently teaching harp at Diamond Bar High School. Leah just finished recording the 30th Anniversary album for Mariachi Sol De Mexico, featuring Jose Hernandez.
Her passion for the non-profit organization, Compassionate Harps, has allowed her to specifically use her talent in music to serve others in need. Leah has raised money and awareness for Compassionate Harps and was even featured on ABC Channel 7 Eyewitness News “Cool Kids” and awarded a scholarship from ABC for her tender work in Compassionate Harps.
