Mandy Schendel, Miss EastSide 2012, was crowned Miss Washington 2012 on July 7, 2012 at Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien, WA. The beauty from Newcastle is 22 years old. She will represent Washington state in the Miss America 2013 Pageant to be held in Las Vegas next January.

Mandy Schendel, Miss EastSide 2012, was crowned Miss Washington 2012 on July 7, 2012.
Schendel’s singing performance, along with her poise and beauty contributed to her win. She also was awarded the best interview and evening gown competition. Her platform is “Do Something: Enriching Youth, Cultivating Leaders.” She has also authored a book on the same subject.
An additional scholarship of $1,000 was given to her by the Miss America organization for her community service.
Currently, Schendel is a senior at Azuza College. Schendel is the author of “Do Something,” a book that’s meant to inspire readers to “dream like a child, and never give up on that which you truly want to accomplish.”
