19-year-old beauty Louisa Josephs Chingangu bested 11 finalists to be crowned the title of Miss Zambia 2016 at the conclusion of the national pageant held at the New Government Complex Conference Centre in Lusaka on December 17, 2016. The daughter of former heavy weight boxing champion is no new to beauty pageants, having been crowned Miss teen Zambia 2014, Miss heritage Zambia 2015 and Miss Africa Zambia 2016.

By winning the title of Miss Zambia 2016, the Cavendish University medical student becomes the youngest beauty queen to hold the Miss Zambia title. Joseph Chingangu walked away with a Toyota Ist as her prize and the chance to represent Zambia in Miss World 2017 pageant.
Her court includes the first runner-up Mwangala Ikacana and the second runner-up Mary Kapya Chibula.
