24-year-old beauty Liesl Laurie from Johannesburg was crowned the title of Miss South Africa 2015 at the conclusion of the national pageant held on March 30th, 2015 at the Superbowl in Sun City. She will represent South Africa in Miss World 2015 pageant, where Rolene Strauss of South Africa will crown her successor.

Laurie, who is living in Johannesburg and is working as a model, holds a Bachelor Degree in Communication. After graduating, she decided to take the rest of the year off from university to pursue a full time career in modelling and also to embark on her journey of giving back to her community and country.

In June 2014, she launched her own non-profit organization named “The Pearl Project”, which aims at inspiring young girls through motivational and educational workshops. In 2010 she started to compete at pageantry. She placed as the 2nd Princess of Miss Soweto 2010 and awarded as Miss Personality at the pageant. In 2014 she placed as the 2nd Runner-up of Miss Mamelodi Sundowns 2014.
