Leighton Jordan, Miss Capital City, was crowned Miss Georgia 2012 on June 24, 2012 at the Bill Heard Theatre in The River Center for the Performing Arts in Columbus. The beauty from Suwannee is 19 years old. She will represent Georgia in the Miss America 2013Pageant to be held in Las Vegas next January.

Her platform: “The Sibling Support Project: Encouraging Special needs Children and Their Siblings”.
With the tittle, Jordan wins a $15,000 scholarship. She is a veteran of pageantry. She was a contestant in the Miss Georgia Teen USA 2011 pageant as Miss Atlanta Teen USA. She was also a semifinalist at the Miss Georgia 2011 pageant as Miss Southern Rivers.
Jordan attends Georgia State University where she has maintained a 4.0 GPA and plans to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing to become a Pediatric Oncology Nurse Practitioner.

The first runner-up is Miss Georgia Cotton, Carly Mathis, who wins a $7,500; second runner-up is Miss Atlanta, Briana Jewett, who wins a $5,000 scholarship; third runner-up is Miss Peachtree, Lauren Edmonds, who wins a $3,500 scholarship and fourth runner-up is Miss Gwinnett County, Annie Walker, who wins a $2,500 scholarship.
