Katherine Kelley, the reigning Miss Summerlin 2015, was crowned the title of Miss Nevada 2015 at the conclusion of the state pageant held on Saturday night, June 27, 2015 at the Smith Center of the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. She will represent the state of Nevada in the upcoming Miss America 2016, to be held in Atlantic City on September 13, 2015.
At the same event, Lauren Watson was crowned Miss Nevada Outstanding Teen 2015 will represent Nevada in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2016 pageant.

Katherine is a graduate of University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and is currently attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she is pursuing a Masters in Secondary Math Education. She is currently a High School Geometry Teacher for CCSD and a “Teach for America” Corps member, and “AmeriCorps” member.
Her talent for the pageant was classical piano. Her platform was “Every Day Counts: Improving Public School Attendance.” She will be speaking at schools in the Las Vegas Valley explaining the importance of attending class daily to get the most out of their education. She is dedicated in enforcing current truancy laws to ensure a better future for the youth in our community.
First runnerup was Bailey Gumm, Miss Truckee Meadows.
The Miss Congeniality award went to Sydney Nelson, who completed as Miss Mount Rose. She’s from Reno.
