Miss Universe Canada 2012, the 61st edition of the Pageant, will be held at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts (Bluma Appel Theatre) in Toronto. Delegates from across Canada will be in Toronto from May 11th to May 20th and will compete for the title of Miss Universe® Canada 2012 awarded on Saturday, May 19th, 2012. The reigning Miss Universe® Canada, Chelsae Durocher will crown her successor before a live audience. With an established reputation, the Metro St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts Theatre has been chosen to be the host venue for the 2012 Miss Universe® Canada pageant.

Janine Mari Tugonon was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2012on April 15, 2012. Right after the event, a lot of netizens expressed their disappointment over the results. Binibining Pilipinas, the organizer, issued an appeal to fans, which read: “What is really disappointing is not the result, but the CRAB MENTALITY of our fellow countrymen. Having seen these ladies from the training, mock pageant, to the auditions, the screening, the selection, the official events, pre-pageant and tonight’s coronation, all 30 of them is very much deserving of a title and crown. They all worked hard in pursuit of their dreams. The judges have decided their fate, and we have our Bb. Pilipinas Queens for 2012. Let’s all be happy for them and instead giving hurtful remarks, why don’t we give something constructive and put our efforts in helping these ladies bring home the international pageant crowns.”

Nazareth Cascante was crowned Miss Costa Rica 2012 on Friday April 13, 2012. Nazareth Cascante from Tambor is 21 years old and stands 1.73m. She will present Costa Rica in Miss Universe 2012. The first runner-up was Ivonne Cerdas. The second runner-up was Cristina Lizano.

Elizabeta Burg was crowned Miss Universe Hrvatske 2012 or Miss Croatia Universe 2012 at the Crystal Ballroom of the Westin Zagreb in Zagreb on April 1, 2012. Elizabeta Burg from Vrbanja is 18 years old and stands 1.78m. She will represent Croatia in Miss Universe 2012 next December.

Monika Mrvelj was the first runner-up and Dorotea Zorić was the second runner-up.

Ayako Hara was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2012 on April 1st, 2012. Ayako Hara from Miyagi prefecture is 24 years old and stands 1.70. This beautiful model will represent Japan at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant in December.

Farah Eslaquit was crowned Miss Nicaragua 2012 at the National Theatre in Managua Saturday, March 18, 2012. Farah Eslaquit from Masaya is 20 year old and will represent Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2012 in December. Keykoll Montalvan from Lean is the first runner-up. This 23-year old beauty will represent Nicaragua in Miss International 2012.

Petya Velkova has just been crowned Miss Universe Bulgaria 2012 or Lady Bulgaria Universe 2012. She is 23 years old and stands 1.83m. Petya Velkova will represent the country at the Miss Universe 2012 Pageant. Petya Velkova represented Bulgaria in Top Model of the World 2011 in Germany.
